MARINE ENVIROMENTAL EDUCATION FOR THE SCHOOLS
Idea Calypso would like to give kids the chance to learn about a new world and about all the species living in it.
We developed modular series of lessons: all the topics will be explained with different level of difficulty and they will be accompanied with audiovisual and educational aid.
The main goals of our lessons are to learn the basic principles of the Sea Ecosystem; to identify the most common spices and learn about their biology.
We also want to aware people of the changes that are taking place nowadays and their consequences on marine environment; we will help to understand the influences that human activity has on the ecosystem, with special attention to the sustainability and the environmental education.
FIELD TRIPS ON SAILING BOAT
Idea Calypso gives you the chance to live a new exciting and educational experience.
On sailing boats led by qualified skippers, kids could discover a wonderful world that really needs to be protected and safeguarded.
A marine biologist will be on board to explain and to show what observed during navigation. She/He will promote discussions on some of the important topics (to be arranged with teachers) about marine ecosystem.
The captain will be at kids’ disposal for some easy and practical lesson about sailing. Kids will have the chance to live this healthy and exciting sport safely.
Moreover, sailing is a way to encourage team spirit and this could be the right moment for kids to show their organizational skills and their ability in living with other people.
MARINE BIOLOGY AND SCUBA DIVING
MARINE BIOLOGY EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR DIVERS
Idea Calypso proposes:
- Marine biology lessons as a valid integration of diving licenses. (Lessons can last 1 or 2 hours and they can rearrange with the instructors).
- Educational support for “Naturalist diver” licences. Those lessons will be for anyone who’d like to know more about the underwater world and who wants to dive responsibly.
- Marine environmental educational program, lessons for specific environment (flora and fauna).
At the end of our lessons we will give identification cards that could be taken during the dive to recognize the species.
